Here's my first tip: Don't reinvent the wheel. As you study different words through your mini-lessons, keep the set of flashcards you had for the manipulatives, and keep them handy when you need to refer to a specific example.

Wondering why they rings are on the bottom of my flash cards instead of up on top? It's faster that way. :) Isn't that cool? I learned that from the cooperative teacher I worked with during my internship, and have seen many people use it over the years. It always makes me smile, too! :)
